• Generic volume cannot be stopped right now: This Is a Common Windows Problem Comes When You Try To Remove Pendrive By Safely Remove Hardware Option..To Fix This Error Read From Here.

This Is A Common Windows Xp Problem And Comes When We Try To Remove Our Pendrive Or Other Removable Media By Selecting"Safely remove hardware".

Many times We Don't Unplug Our Pendrive By Using "Safely Remove Hardware" Feature....But If We Select Safely Remove Hardware Option Then windows Will stop all the read-write operations on the drive so that the drive can be removed..It Is Highly Recommended To Use This Option When You Unplug Your Pendrive.

But Sometimes When We Select "Safely Remove Hardware" Window Give Us A Error Like 
"The Device Generic volume cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device later "

Lets Start To Fix It...


STEP 1: Download A Small Software Named UNLOCKER Unlocker Is a Small Utility Use To Unlock The File Handles Of Your Pendrive Which Is used By Other Applications.

Click Here To Download Unlocker

STEP 2:Install UNLOCKER on Your Computer.

STEP 3:Right Click On USB Drive In My Computer And Select Unlocker.

STEP 4:A new Small Window Will Pop-up Which Shows All The Busy File Handles Of File Being Used On Your Pendrive.

Click On Unlock All...And Then Try To Remove Your Pendrive...

It Will Not Show You That Error Again..Hope This Helps you :)

•  Remove Write Protection From Pendrive: This is Also A Very Common Problem That Comes When We Want To Modify Or Delete The Contents Of Our Pendrive.To Fix This Error Read From Here.

STEP 4: Navigate To 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies

STEP 5:Double click the key WriteProtect in the right pane and set the value Of Value Data Section to 0

STEP 7: Exit Registry Editor And Restart Your Computer..

  STEP 4:On this disk management window, you can see some drives including the portable drive Or Pendrive. Right click on your Pendrive and click change drive letter and paths. A Small Window Will Appear.
  
  
  STEP 5:Now Click On Change And Assign A New Drive Letter To Your Pendrive Which Is Not Used By Any Of Your Hard disk drives.
  
  STEP 6:After assigning the new drive letter your Pendrive will show up in my computer with other drives.If Not Then Reboot Your Computer.. :)

Sometimes We are Not Able To Format Our Pendrive And When We Try To Do So We Get A Error Which Says "Cannot Format The Pendrive".There are Several Reasons Behind That But Most Probably This Is Because Of Virus Infection Or Faulty Hardware.

So Lets Start...



First Method

STEP 1:Plug In Your Pendrive In Your Computer and Then Click On Start.

STEP 2:Go To Run.Then Type CMD..A MS DOS Command Window Will Open.

STEP 3:In Dos Prompt, type FORMAT J:/FAT32 and press enter where J Can Be Your Pendrive Letter and FAT32 is pen drive type.

Note:If Your pendrive Have A Letter Like H:
Then Type FORMAT H:/FAT32

Many times This Method Works Fine But If Not Working In Your Case Then Try Method Second.




Second Method
STEP 1:Plug In Your Pendrive,Click On Start

STEP 2:Click On Run,Type compmgmt.msc and Press Enter.

STEP 3:A Computer Management Window Will Open.

STEP 4:Select Disk Management,immediately A Disk Management Window Will Appear On Right Side.

STEP 5:Right Click On Your Pendrive There..Then Select Format.




Third MethodSTEP 1:Plug-in Your Pendrive.

STEP 2:insert Window Installation Cd And Reboot Your Computer.

STEP 3:Enter Any Key And Proceed With Installation..At Some Point Of Time It Will Give You A Option Like "Format Your Pc" Proceed With It By Pressing Enter Key.

STEP 4:After That Windows Will Detect All Your Hard-disk Partion And Pendrive Also And Show Them On Screen.
Select Your Pendrive Ther And Press "Delete" Key To Format Your Pendrive..

Almost Every Time This Trick Works..:)

  STEP 3:Click On Run.Then Type devmgmt.msc and Then Press Enter. This Will Open A Device Management Window.
  
  STEP 4: At Last There Is A Option For "Universal Serial Bus Controllers".Expand That By Clicking (+) button 
  
  
  STEP 5:After That A List Of USB Controllers Will Appear..
  Check That List Correctly..You Will Find A "Unknown Device"
  Entry Like This.

    STEP 6: Right Click On "Unknown Device" And Click On         Uninstall. This Will Uninstall The Malfunctioned Device Driver.

    STEP 7:After That Right Click On Any Of The Device Driver In List And Click On "Scan For Hardware Changes".This Will Install The New Driver For Your USB Device Or Pendrive Automatically.

STEP 8: Close Device Manager Window And Restart Your Computer. And You Are Done:)
